Our story

We live in Kangra.

Not near the Dhauladhar — under it. The range runs the whole length of this valley, and the brand is named for one hour of it.

On a clear night in Kangra city you can stand in the street, look up, and watch the moon come over the Dhauladhar. It lifts past the ridge line, throws the snow into relief, and turns the whole wall silver for about an hour.

That hour is the brand. Everything we make is an attempt to put it onto cloth.

The peak

One summit on a long skyline

Moon Peak sits on the wall above this valley. We looked at it for years before we ever tried to walk up it, and it taught us what every mountain teaches eventually — that the summit is not really the point. The ascent is. You go up slowly, in the cold, mostly in the dark, and you come back down with something you cannot photograph.

The name is that hour: late enough that the trail belongs to nobody, bright enough that you can put the head torch away.

Why clothes

Nothing to wear that felt like here

Outdoor labels sell you equipment for a mountain you visit twice a year. Streetwear sells you a city you have never been to. We wanted the third thing — pieces cut for the walk up to the ridge and the walk back through town, made heavy enough to outlast the season they were drawn in.

How we make it

Made once, then gone

Small runs, because that is what we can make properly rather than because it is a strategy. Brushed-back fleece with real weight to it. Ombre dyed in two baths so the fade lands where a snowline meets rock. Ascent routes drawn to scale in a single fine white line.

When a drop is finished, it is finished.

Where next

Still going up

Moon Peak is a small thing run out of a valley in Himachal Pradesh by people who would rather be on the ridge than behind a desk. If you are wearing it somewhere high, send us the photograph — that is the whole marketing plan.

Find your peak.

What came of it

The pieces

Everything above, cut and dyed and printed. Made in runs small enough to count.
